What Is The Link Between Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy?

When people think hypnosis, they generally think of people running around like chickens or clucking like ducks BUT this is NOT what hypnosis is about!

Hypnosis is merely a naturally occurring trance-like state; the very same that all of us experience while drifting off to sleep or daydreaming.

However, during hypnosis you are not asleep, you are just extremely relaxed. You are awake, aware of everything that is happening around you and still in full control – you cannot be forced do anything against your will. In the hypnotic state you are able to be a fully participating part of the process.

Hypnotherapy is the practice of using the guided relaxation, intense concentration and hyper focus of hypnosis to achieve a heightened state of awareness. While in this deep state of relaxation you are essentially allowing your conscious mind to relax so that a calm and direct connection can be made with your subconscious mind. You are able to focus all your attention on specific thoughts, memories or tasks and you are more open to sharing and discussion.

This type of therapy can be used to treat a number of addictions, phobias and ailments. Do you feel irritable and angry all the time? Do you suffer from a low mood or low-esteem? Do you want to stop smoking, or to lose weight? Hypnotherapy can address all of these issues and more.
